Attaching your bonnet to your real hair is ok, you forget easily when it's on and the alligator clamps really helped mine stay in place even when I bumped in stuff or lowered my head. Since mine is rigid, I guess it needs trial and error to make it work depending on the fabric, clamps etc...

Devil Inspired needs to work on their communication. I've put in a pre-order, waited three months, heard nothing, not a single word, written them multiple questions and then only received an answer on the question that involved me spending MORE money with them.

I've spent ridiculous sums of money on their shipping, trying to understand how two dresses is almost $50. Give me a break! That alone made me start ordering directly through Souffle Song, who doesn't charge as much as Devil Inspired.

I've also seen them change sizing on a dress I was watching over the weeks, where it went from being a very small bust to suddenly accommodating a much larger bust, 115 cm. But if you went to lace market and Google that same dress you would find that there were girls who got scammed into buying it and it didn't fit!! The dress had swimming goldfish on it, and I really wanted that dress but couldn't trust them after that.

Their markup and shipping is ridiculous. Their communication skills need some work. Their website is really nice however. And I still don't know anything about my dress from more than three months ago that I spent $165. on, before shipping. I wish they ran a better business.

Ps. I contacted them about the strange change in the info on the goldfish dress, they acted like they didn't understand my question. I was super clear.

actually, you can buy from taobao even if you don't live in china, i live in malaysia but i still use the chinese taobao app to purchase things, but the problem is there's a shipping fee. but if it's converted into us currency it will definitely be very cheap. and also the app is in chinese, so it might be confusing for people who don't learn the language

To be honest, the shipping fees make them prohibitively expensive to order from- also not to mention they do not offer anything in CAD so I must then pay conversion fees. The only time I could ever order from them is if I did an absolutely MASSIVE haul to justify the cost! 85 dollar shipping fees? I think NOT. Not in a millon years! I really wish they would not jack up shipping costs instead of maintaining reasonable list costs, it's a bad look.

I would like Devilinspired to add material composition to all their clothes, both outer layers and lining ("artificial cotton" is not good enough. Is it polyester? Acrylic? Nylon...?). I need to know this because I have sensitive skin and artificials, polyester in particular, can give me a rash of worn against my skin. Also, I lat out do not enjoy artificial fabrics; they don't breathe, cause static, are bad for keeping warm or cool, ect.

I one time wanted to order from Devilinspired but didn't end up doing it because of a couple of reasons:

1. They didn't have my region/state listed in the options, it was frustrating because I was paying through PayPal and the order didn't go through because my region wasn't listed.
2. EMS shipping wasn't available to my country, even though it was available in the US. I wouldn't have minded waiting a while longer for an already pre-order dress, but they didn't give that cheaper option.

I have several suggestions, fix inventory, need fix issues of preorders keep up for too long and if out product do not list unless get back in stock, see more brands and styles. Then they need look into do custom tailor service ( non- returnable), lolitas in west see non brands want buys online just not in their sizes. Another reason for the tailor service if idea for dress just for you. They need look into coming to the Lolita cons help bring more exposure website. Finally, get stuff done before the deadline like two weeks head giving enough to to shipped.

Am i the only one who noticed Devilinspired is constantly changing prices of shipping? I have two things in my shopping cart because i'm waiting for my salary and i noticed that when i added them shipping was very cheap like 10$ what was a nice surprise and really made me hyped to try this store but when i checked it again couple of hours later it magically changed to 30$!
That's so shady... 20$ is a lot of money! Not to mention 30$ for epocket? They don't even charge this much! Where is this money going? I understand business but c'mon.

I think the most useful feature that is not available anywhere is to filter your search by size for example bust sizes greater than whatever the person is looking for. Finding pretty things easy but but finding pretty things that fit is hard!

actually you CAN order directly from Taobao. Taobao now can ship directly to the United States and other overseas countries. There are guides out there for ordering directly from Taobao, and the best one has just been updated as of August or September of this year. The only reason to use services for lolita is if you're going to need to keep in contact with the seller for custom measurements or something or you're not confident or don't want to be the one to deal with making sure different items make it into your warehouse for consolidated shipping. My friend orders directly from Taobao all the time and does just fine.

Devil inspired should remove pieces that aren’t in stock (only have things up if they actually have it) so people don’t get their hopes up about buying something only to never receive it because they didn’t have it. Also communication needs to improve.

Oh man, I've had this one dress I've wanted for such a long time... It's an Alice and the Pirates dress, so prepare for the long-winded name. It's "Faint Love in the Watercolor Sky and the Melody of the Rain" (the JSK I version), in the sax colour way. I just love the the film and music themes, the hydrangeas, the watercolour effect in the background, and the umbrella shape motifs thought the dress. Gushing about it makes me want to go look for it again.

My dream dress at the moment is the Roselia x Metamorphose collab JSK 🥺🥺🥺 I can't find it anywhere but it's absolutely goregous. Preeetttyy sure it was just snatched up by otaku bandori stans who wanted to add to their merch collection....yet I'm here, a Gothic Lolita fan of Roselia that would actually wear the coord very frequently. I love the sheer fabrics and blue roses on a black background - at least Luminous Sanctuary is similar, and I have that. There have been replicas all over aliexpress because teeechnically they could be a cosplay of the game (the dresses are in-game items) but...I don't want to support that and its nowhere near the quality of the original dresses.

Our tastes in bonnets are totally opposite! Everything you dislike in a bonnet is what I like! I like bonnets that actually look like historical bonnets that come around your face more and the type you like to me just look like circle halos for pinning things onto, not like a real bonnet for keeping the sun off my face. But to each their own, I’m glad the type you love so much goes with the dress!

My main tip would be to be for items to arrive faster, at a comparable/lower cost. Looking at their site, most items (that aren't pre-order, which a lot of them are) list a processing time of 2-3 weeks (which doesn't make any sense if they already have the items in stock) and their shipping options are either USD $25+ for 1 week shipping or $7+ for 30 day shipping (I added only a pair of tights to my cart which should ship very cheaply). If it would take anywhere from 1-2 months for my order to get to me, I'm not really motivated to order from them. Their free shipping threshold is pretty low, but I assume that's for the 'basic' shipping method, not expedited, and if expedited shipping costs about $25 for just a pair of tights I imagine it would be way more for a blouse or a dress or a multi item order. I wouldn't pay $25 to ship a few accessories but I want them quicker than 30 days (plus 2-3 weeks processing) so they could maybe shorten processing time by keeping items in stock in their facilities and offer a wider range of shipping options, because if they had a middle option that was, say, $10-$15 for 2-3 week shipping that would be much more reasonable. I don't know where they're based, but my Japanese SS ships multi item orders (dress and several accessories) by small air packet for only $15-$30 and it arrives in 3 weeks, so I'm sure that devilinspired can find a similar middle ground.

I just got AP's Nostalgic Garden JSK in Grey a little while ago (they did a re-release) and I really, really love it. It comes in Black, Grey, Dusty Rose Pink and Periwinkle Blue (think bright blue with a touch of lavender) with crisp white lace trim on all of them. It's made of polyester but the fabric is woven to have a linen-look with it's texture and it's very breezey. I'm right now a US size 4 / 6 on top and a US size 12 -14 on the bottom (beware the super pear) and it's really, really roomy on a bodice. It has half shirring in the back but it feels way, way bigger cut then usual and fits me more like if the dress had been full shirring (and as if I were a few sizes smaller then I currently am). The pockets are designed to be part of the bodice's princess seam and it has this matching-fabric mini-pleat trim along it that's super cute yet understated. I didn't think to try on the OP at the time while I was at the store, but the JSK is in stock in all colors at the USA store right now if anyone's interested.

As a side note, websites like Devil Inspired are really handy for building up your wardrobe when you first start out; the reason why I can afford the bigger-ticket stuff now is that I was able to create a solid lolita wardrobe of mix-and-match staples from sites like this one so then I could save up for the bigger pieces. If I was only buying from the bigger brands directly, I would still be building up my basic wardrobe today and have less justification for buying one expensive piece.

I'm always concerned about the quality of this type of tea party dresses from taobao brand. My strategy is to wait and see if it's good after they ship out the dress to buyers, then I will use the Chinese second-hand market. It's simply the best as I can order a nearly new one of this type of dresses for much cheaper price. I can't do this with AP or Baby dresses because they don't really devalue.

They only thing I think they could do is to have a "basics" section. I don't want to root through a bunch of listings of really complex/unique bags when all I need is a simple black one.

EDIT: I was looking through their website and it seems the "plus size" category isn't accurate. It says dresses with busts and waists over 100 and 90cm respectively, but I clicked on a dress I liked and the biggest bust measurement is 94 and the waist is 80.

Devil Inspired could use more shipping options? I recently made an order and there were only two shipping options, both had high shipping prices even if you use the longer wait time/"cheaper" option. However, I am still relatively new with taobao middlemem/resellers.

My only slight annoyence with Devilinspired is that they don't take items off their site that are no longer in stock (and I just realize the wishlist pages don't update when things are out of stock) . It has happened to me twice where I order a lot of stuff in one go only to find out after paying for the order that one or two things weren't actually in stock which kinda blows when it's items I really like. :/

For me, the big thing is shipping. All of the shipping options are extremely expensive. It feels really misleading because I'll find a dress I really love at a great price, and then I'll go to check out and the cheapest shipping option is over $30. For devil inspired, find cheaper ship costs, listing many shipping options when on purchase page. Bought a $25 pair of shoes a while back, it turned out to be around $70 with shipping (this was after splitting ship 50/50 already, with another person who bought 1 other thing) 🤦‍♀️I don't ever end up going there/am reluctant to purchase unless I need something practicaly immediately/the next weekend. Live in Canada btw

As someone in Ireland the shipping is the biggest problem, along with misleading prices. (Certain listings will be listed as one price but when you select it it jumps by a huge amount) if they could lower shipping and make pricing more clear. I'd love to shop there.

I've just ordered an Elpress dress too! But it's an OP and it was on Clobbaonline. Right from the time Elpress announced its release earlier this year it's been a dream dress of mine. The OP's name is Diamond Crevasse and it's also a kind of Roccoco style.
Unfortunately it will only be shipped in April or May 2020 but it's worth the wait, really. Elpress L's Shanghai customers were super lucky tho, because they could get it during some kind of a lolita con/event in October, plus they also got a free Sharon's rose necklace with it. (sigh)... But I'll wait for mine. I didn't even expect to get it in the first place! I had saved money for months, and like one week before the preorder started, my car just died. It literally died and all my money was spent on it (double sigh) and when I got back on my feet the preorder was already closed.
So when I saw it listed on Clobba I was like "FOR REAL???'" I didn't ask any more question.

Many lolitas argue that jsks are better because you can coordinate more. I’m not a lifestyle Lolita, so I only dress up on special occasions. I personally prefer OP’s because it’s less layers/less to store/ less to wash. I think I may also just like the colored sleeves

Every time I order from devilinspired it takes forever to show up (I ordered a dress about 4 months early for an event and it showed up 6 months later) and the “custom” sizing is way off. It’s like they take the measurements and put it into the pattern but don’t take any shirring into account. I’ve gotten two dresses with custom sizing from them and they’ve been way too big bc the shirring felt like an after thought. It would be better if they just left out the shirring. I’ve had to sell both of them bc they were so big on me. I want to order from them because I love the dresses they sell. 😭😭
