My sister showed me Claire for the first time and it was the best thing ever. Claire is a very precious thing. She is not like other people. She is different. She gave the world something great and she only lived 21 years. She is amazing person. She has a pure soul. I love her and really miss her.❤❤

It's piti that I found out about her when she's gone.Although I have another disease,l found out just at the moment when my condition worsened, although everything was fine for a long time, but the hope of stopping taking medication disappeared when it became known that I needed to take them for life. It's good that there are people who look the truth in the eye and ask not to show pity for sick people. I know by myself how depressing it is and makes it worse morally

Today I watched the movie “Five Feet Apart” and in the credits I found the dedication to Claire. I immediately thought the film was based on a true story, so I started looking for who Claire would be; I got here.
I'm sorry I didn't meet her sooner, but I'm glad you at least saw this video and found out about her for yourself. Claire, wherever you are, know that at 21 years old you helped a lot of people, you were a voice and someone who inspired them to live their daily lives. 4 years ago I left one of my biggest dreams stored in a trunk because life requires us to make some choices that we don't want to make, but we need to. But after seeing how much you lived and fought for your purpose, I want to take advantage of my time rescuing this dream and living it while I can. After all, as you said, “Live a life you can be proud of.”

first half, i totally agree with how someone with illness is portrayed and all the pitying but the last half is a very subjective experience and bottomlines to what everyone says is fuck excuses and do something. I’m very disheartened by these type of statements because it takes from people who truly need help and are truly held back by their circumstances, obstacles and yes their illnesses.

YT has been showing me patient stories after i viewed suicidal topics esp right to die and it’s just so frustrating to be told over and over that whatever you’re dealing with doesn’t matter bc the world is so big and so many others can triumph so that means you can to!

It’s exhausting to have so many people preach from their pov and their own experience as relatable to everyone else’s and i know what i’m saying comes across insensitive but i think some of these reoccurring statements are also insensitive.

I have illness from abuse meaning my support system causes my illness whereas the average person has their support system to rely on when they’re ill and it certainly wasn’t caused by them intentionally.

There is sickness where you can barely move or walk or even speak but we speak of hope or living loud but it’s unrealistic and false. I think people have the right to die with dignity and i think she had so much fear and rightfully fearful of this procedure and she just wanted to live life to the fullest and not be another sick kid but to say that your illness or lack of health is an excuse is just the most tiresome thing i keep hearing and i’m tired of defending it. It’s so so narrow minded and it’s how so many who truly need help end up silenced.

I never heard of Claire until today, when this video came up on my feed. We would have been in the same grade in school and I can’t help but feel like we would have been best friends. What a wonderful soul, I miss her even never having met her.

I just watched this. I had no idea about Claire. This documentary really moved me. I am sitting here with tears running down my face and such love in my heart for this young lady. I understand and relate many of the things she said. The fact that she knew her purpose is the thing I love most about her. When she made the decision to get the transplant so she could do more for others, I expected her to say that. That was the moment that hit me. When she went through with it, I cried uncontrollably because of her strength. When she died, I felt so sad but also so proud of her. I never met her, but I genuinely love her. Thank you, Claire. ❤

I am absolutely heartbroken... I just stumbled across this lovely ladies channel and watched a video, this video came up on the sidebar and I was thinking "I really hope she's doing ok now" only to scroll to the comments and see that she sadly passed away. Life can be so cruel sometimes but it sounds like Claire lived her life on her own terms and faced each day with a smile. What an inspirational lady. Rest in peace beautiful girl.

Claires story just came acros my instagram feed and I had to watch this beautiful and so inspiring documentary . I never knew of Claire until the last 40 or so minutes . I am so so grateful to have watched her life story and her heart felt inspiration way of living every moment to her ultimate best . I cried alot as I can resonate with having a terminal illness as I also have cystic fibrosis and I was very lucky to have recieved a successful double lung transplant eleven years ago . Very grateful to Claire words of inspiration to " Live a life you can be proud of" . So glad I got to know your story and I will always remember Claire and her story as it helps transform so many lifes today and will continue to do . Rest in peace Claire 🦋

Im not here to insert my life because its selfish to do that on someone's video however my sister died from CF on 03/01/14 (21 years old) at John's Hopkins after a lung transplant. I have seen first hand how CF affects a person and for her to appear so strong in these videos is ever impressive and empowering. It's hard seeing someone you love slowly get worse and but it's nothing compared to how my sister and she felt. Shows to never take life do granted

death by mucous? wow. so bromelain is an enzyme I take (found in pineapple) that radically boosts immunity but breaks down mucous in the body, along with protein in general. I don't know if that would even help, but lifelong I've always had buildup of too much mucous, nearly fatal asthma and etc.

I'm 32. I've had 3 kidney transplants, So far i've had last my kidney from my mom for 24 years. I'm a medical anomaly, and I literally constantly get brought to tears both happy & sad whenever I watch her videos. Especially with how she articulates her perspective on life. It warms my heart to know end with how many people she's touched, and will continue to do so long after she's gone. She may be a complete stranger, but I regard her as a friend, and what else could we ever hope for besides that when we're no longer here.

But I wanted to thank you, I wanted to thank you for giving me desire to live again, I was convinced that my life was subpar, worthless, insignificant, I convinced myself that I would give nothing to world, that I would not have any deep connections, that it would be pointless in any case, but your passion and belief that you could do something, make meaningful and positive change and help others, even if you were sick, even if you wouldn’t be able to see the ending of it, was just plain inspiring. She died in 2018, barely 3 weeks after her 21st birthday. So, she lived to 21 like she wanted... But I doubt she went clubbing during those last weeks.

I knew right away in the opening shot when she freaken gets on screen and lights it up with quite possibly the most perfect outgoing legendary mature and astute personality of all time, I knew when the piano came in that this would be a documentary where she is no longer with us. This girl was such a Fucking INCREDIBLE human being like good lord, who wouldn’t want to have a friend even half as cool and fun as she was! I want to eradicate this disease so badly, what a nightmare situation and for Claire but instead of sulking she actually does the opposite and has the amazing outlook she had, like my god she may actually be when you look at it objectively the literal COOLEST human to ever live!

For all of you here reading this, either battling some form of sickness or healthy: remember... in our flesh, every human on Earth is in a funeral procession, most just don't know their place in line. It is only through Faith in Jesus Christ that salvation and eternal life in Heaven is possible. In John 14:6 Jesus said... "I am the Way the Truth, and the Life. No man cometh to the Father except through me." Know and understand, there is NOTHING we can do in our flesh to be justified in God's eyes.

The Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."

Genesis 1:26-27 says: "Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness'; So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." - Like the Triune God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), humans also have a triune nature - except ours is flesh, spirit, and soul (mind). Because we were endowed with a spiritual nature, we all have eternal life. PLEASE think on this - accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour is THE MOST IMPORTANT decision any human can make - just make sure you know where you will spend your eternity after this life. Heaven and Hell are real, and the only thing between us and that next reality is the thin vail between life and death... this mortal flesh in which we temporarily inhabit will perish. Many will Scoff at this... but only for a time.

This brings back such sweet memories of my nephew who passed at 16 from CF. He was a wonderful, kind and humble boy. He was given the opportunity just before his passing to have a lung transplant but his numbers dropped and he was suddenly unable to get the transplant. I remember being appalled. He waited for this his whole life. I thought it was definitely what he needed because of is failing health. But I had to understand that getting a transplant while down is not optimal. He had to get better before it could happen. He had to get better but there was also the timing of the other organ. It's a very hard time. Like other children I have met with CF, they live life while here on earth in such a different way. They understand this precious life. CF is a devastating illness. We can learn a lot from these beautiful people. Sending hugs and love to all those with CF. And many Blessings to you and your loved ones❤
