I am khan and I dont have a gun
Muslims need to make their own films (with quality, not shitty acting and cg). Both commies and HAMerica are just spreading their own propaganda leaving Muslims as targets.

HISTORICAMENTE CORRETO KABUL FICOU LINDA COM A ADMINISTRAÇÃO E AJUDA DO POVO SOVIÉTICO. DEPOIS TOTALMENTE DESTROÇADA PELA OTAN. A PIOR DERROTA FOI DE TODAS TROPAS DA OTAN DEPOIS DA INVASÃO DO AFEGANISTÃO. É ESTRANHO A LIGAÇÃO DA CIA COM OS TRAFICANTES DE ÓPIO AFEGÃS, É ESTRANHO COMO AS MÁFIAS ITALIANAS SEMPRE FAZIAM COMÉRCIO DE HEROÍNA, OPIOIDES, ETC COM OS MUÇULMANOS AFEGÃOS. PARABÉNS É O REAL. ATÉ HOJE ESTRANHAMENTE A C.I.A LUCRA COM TRANSPORTE DE COCAÍNA PARA EUROPA. DIFÍCIL DE ENTENDER OS SERVIÇOS SECRETOS DO OCIDENTE, USAM AS DROGAS PARA FINANCIAR SUAS AÇÕES. ISTO ASSUSTA NORTE AMERICANOS AMIGOS MEUS.

Amin killed by spetznaz and the 40th MR div arrived earlier in 79, we followers of Islam know their is no other power than Islam as the communist hates muslims as the have demonstrated before so this is a lot of communist lies

you want the truth watch Afghanistan the great game as this made by an war weary Russian filmaker taking his onesided story from the communist archives as no one invaded in 1919 as the white verses reds fought in Russia and as lenin died in1924 there was no 100 years of Lenin

Your mention of the storming of the Afghan president's palace in '79 and his subsequent death fails to mention that the troops who stormed the palace were Soviet... did you not think that's important...???

IMO, revenge had a lot to do with the American involvement in Afghanistan. The Americans wanted revenge for the Soviet involvement in Korea, and later in Vietnam. It looks like they got it. Of course, America got dragged into Afghanistan, so maybe post-Soviet Russia got some revenge of its own . . .

Not sure who's doing the subs but here in the West it's usually called the 'Great Game' not the 'Big Game.'

Episode 1) Gives a fair assessment of the debacle that is Afghanistan, then the second episode goes off the rails a bit, and starts the blame game as to why the invasion of Afghanistan failed. It gets particularly silly when they show scenes of the Twin Towers being destroyed and then the narrator suggests this may not have happened if the Yanks had not supported the Afghans. The footage is interesting, and the series is worth viewing but their is a misleading narrative about the friendly Soviet neighbor simply trying to help out the people of Afghanistan at the request of a legitimate government in Kabul.

Top Russian Commander Lieutenant General Boris Gromov, Debunks 4 Myths About Soviet War in Afghanistan Myth I: "Soviet-Afghan War"
"The very first misconception about the conflict lies in its name," the General says.

"The name of the so-called 'Soviet-Afghan' War implies that the conflict had a two-sided character, i.e. that it was a confrontation between the USSR and Afghanistan, which is factually incorrect."

The Commander states that this narrative was created and popularised in the West during the Cold War to give legitimacy to the mujahedeen, whom the US and its allies supported.
"The Soviet military was lawfully present in Afghanistan, as it was officially invited by the ruling Afghan government Socialist Democratic Party in 1979," the General notes, drawing parallels with the deployment of Russian troops in Syria in September 2015.
"The Afghan conflict was actually an internal confrontation between the pro-Moscow government headed by the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) and the mujahedeen or dushmans, bands of various Islamist and anti-PDPA rebels."

The General cautions that although it is important to understand the "international element," including the Soviet involvement, one must not simplify the highly complex and dynamic nature of the conflict into a "black-and-white" clash between the Afghans and the Soviets.

Even the notion of "war" might not be technically appropriate to describe the Afghan conflict, owing to the low-intensity nature of warfare, according to Gromov. At the same time, the pro-Moscow government of Mohammad Najibullah was "gaining momentum," establishing an effective military and security apparatus and enjoying growing political popularity after certain reforms that appealed to the traditionalists within Afghan society."
"By the time of our withdrawal, the local government was capable of autonomous operation, provided that it would continue to receive financial and economic support from the USSR," says Gromov, who was responsible for withdrawing the Soviet troops from the DRA.
When asked why Najibullah's government eventually collapsed, Gromov points to the disintegration of the Soviet Union and to the new direction of Russian foreign policy under the Yeltsin Administration, which cut vital aide to Najibullah in its entirety in early 1992.

This line of thought was also expressed in the declassified CIA estimates, which confirm that the pro-Moscow government would have survived as long as the USSR had continued to provide economic assistance.

Boris Popovich
So they made this ultra long documentary to justify the occupation of Afghanistan... but even in this biased presentation it's clear that the Soviets installed a communist government there which people later wanted to get rid of, and the Soviet Union then invaded to preserve the communist regime there. Not much different than what the US is doing nowadays.
