 | Well, the P14 contract wasn't a complete waste. It became the most common WW1 rifle in American troops' hands as the 30-06 M1917, which in turn got sold or lent to countries in need of them. Hell, the Danish Sirius Dog Sled Patrol still uses them for their remarkable reliability in arctic conditions. P14s served as rear echelon weapons that freed up SMLEs for the front lines.  | The P14s are hard to find here in the US but aren't terribly expensive which is weird considering their rarity. The P17s are everywhere and overpriced as hell because of their association of Americans in the First World War.
