 | I'm still extremely curious to know what happened in the game with the draw. If you don't play chess, you don't know how insane that is. Being 2200+ is called a "master" for a reason. "You just recalled a whole game from memory! Can every master do that?" At my peak (a modest 1300), I could replay longer time format games from memory.  | What gets me is the mistake that I didn't see a comment point out. Keith was not in checkmate. Unless that piece that looks a lot like a bishop to me is actually a knight, Kurts' queen was unguarded, and the king could take it. The knight covered a2 and b1, the bishop covered c2, b3, and a4. The queen was unguarded on b2 putting the king in check. Keiths' 4 pawns provided an effective screen keeping any other pieces from being able to cover b2. He was still horrendously doomed and would likely have been put in mate shortly thereafter,. The only thing I can think of is that Kurt thought there was another piece there and Keith didn't see the move...or I'm blind and that is a knight on d1. 14:17 Also, later, at 14:58 Kurt says "pawn to b6" and the camera shows them moving his pawn 2 spaces to b5. Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely impressive, but he doesn't feel blindfolded here--only restricted to a thin sliver of vision near the bottom.
