I did not like school that much so maybe that helped, i didnt mind being without my friends, slong as we talked. Weird to hear the bad stories, when i reminisce it as time of peace and rest.  | This ted talk discusses how there are statistical measures that are used to technically determine when a pandemic no longer fits the definition. While the numbers of deaths or new infections may demote this classification, residue in the social or psychological sphere may persist for long after this reclassification. There is still room for physicians to address these lingering consequences, and the ethical principle of justice may explain how to proceed. Justice states that healthcare resources should be distributed fairly and equitably, taking into account various factors like need, social access, and aims to reduce healthcare disparities. We have seen in this pandemic a social stratification of outcomes and care access among our marginalized communities. Rosenthal talks on how critical it is to address these factors before cessation of pandemic-ending efforts to make sure all members of our community are considered in the conversation. We have seen that historical injustices with vaccination programs for our African American community have been amplified in the mistrust of government vaccination programs, and misinformation and propaganda for the COVID 19 vaccination program have created a renewed distrust in our healthcare system among members of this community. While the pandemic may no longer reflect the mortality and incidence numbers we saw earlier last year, there are lasting social and psychological concerns we need to address as a healthcare community to ensure this pandemic is truly “over”. This would include allocation of resources to our marginalized communities to ensure these factors are addressed, which would uphold our principle of justice.
