 | It's a shame to see such positive feedback in the comments, like this build isn't perpetuating the mentality that this weapon is best for support. It really isn't, and it hasn't been until Rise. Rise made healing songs better with the speed of performance and the ease with which you can make them heal more. Putting wide range on a Hunting Horn goes against the most effective play styles for it, so I really never understand why people think it works. You have to put your weapon away to use an item, and you have to stop dead in your tracks of you want to unsheathe again without messing up your notes.  | I tried this build and I'm SO squishy! Elder dragons are a no-go, Ruiner Nergigante and anything tempered just... laughs. It's nice having practically unlimited potions, but I spend so much time running and chugging that I can't get any damage in. I'm sure once I practice HH more and can "do the dance" this may improve (I've played IG almost exclusively until now, so I've got some work to do on I-frames since I've been able to just... fly away for my whole career.), but man! taking 50% of my health for every moderately strong hit is a DRAG.  | hehe this was such a good and fun build. but I do have some recommendation for the upgraded version. i called it ultimate healer lol. this build and set basically for late game and iceborne, since it needs some of IB mats for upgrade and such. okay so I will list the build: 1. for armor: you need Kulve Taroth Beta + since equipping this full sets will give you: Guts and Free Meal Secret bonus skill. And also please augmented the armor so you can upgrade it even more. 2. and for decor, since we're using the beta armor set, we can get a lot of decor/jewel slot. Headpiece: 2 Earplug+4 and 1 satiated jewel 1 Body Armor: 1 Earplug/Vitality+4 and 1 Brace jewel 3 Armguard: 1 Sonorous jewel+4 and 1 Steadfast jewel+4 Coil/Skirt: 1 Brace/Vitality jewel 4 and 1 Flawless jewel 2 Footgear: 1 Brace/Vitality jewel 4, 1 Steadfast jewel 1 and 1 Satiated jewel 1 3. For weapon: you can bring any of your dooting equipment and with whatever the decor! since you need to change weapon often to exploit the monster. but I do suggest to augment your weapon as much as you like, either for attack, affinity or so. more stronk. 4. For charm: just used the Friendship Lvl 5 charm as OP suggested. 5. For Mantle: I suggest bring something that will help you, not the party. like vitality+ or element-proof mantle etc. 6. Item to bring besides OP recommends: a.) Greatsushi fish scale+, I heavily I recommended this. you can bring 5 but with free meal skill it will hold out much longer. it restores full health, natural healing boost and stops bleeding. and you just chew it not chugging it, much faster. b.) Whetfish fin+, if you're like me who likes doing Echo Attack. The weapons sharpness drains a lot, especially if you're low on white sharpness bar. with this item, you just need to sharp once and restore full sharpness. While your team bullying the monster, this item will quickly make you stronk once more. And sometimes it didn't decrease when using. You can bring 5, but its more than enough. so this build will give you: Defense: 1101 Earplug: 5 Wide-range: 5 Stun resistance: 5 Health Boost: 3 Critical Boost: 3 Peak Performance: 3 Free Meal: 3 Speed Eating: 3 Flinch Free: 3 Horn Maestro: 2 no slot skill wasted :D and you can be a friggin bardbarian who hit like a truck while also keeping your teammates safe by buffing (horn) and healing (item). so no time wasted also!  | So this build is a nice beginners build. For those that want to min-max here's my upgraded version which provides everything in this build and added defense for even more survival. This is only possible thanks to the Safi-Jiiva update. The best thing about the Safi Horns is that the elements are not hidden which really opens up a lot of opportunities. The weapon of choice is the Safi's Bindhorn for the paralyze status ailment. But you can go for whatever suits you the best. The awakened abilities I chose for it: Attack Melody III which gives you the same music list as the Sforzando III Slot Upgrade IV Tigrex Essence which allows us to equip better gear (only slightly) Status Effect Up V Defense Increase V Augments - Defense Increase I, Slot Upgrade I, and Ele/Status Effect Up I. We don't need regen as we are relying on potions The helmet is the Damascus Helm B+ which we use for the defense up level 3 which is much more valuable than flinch free 1 from the Zorah Magdaros Helm B+ in my opinion. Next we Keep the Tigrex Mail B+, Fellshroud Braces a+, and the Tigrex Tassets B+. I only use better decorations. Next the Greaves we use are the Esurient Greaves B+ for one extra skill, just for the min max. we don't need tigrex greaves since we have the safi augment. Lastly we upgrade friendship charm to V. The decorations Weapon - Steadfast Jewel+ 4, Defense Jewel 1, Hard Defense Jewel 4 Helm - Earplug/Vitality Jewel 4, Sonorous jewel 1, Gobbler jewel 1 Mail - Earplug/Medicine jewel 4, steadfast jewel 1 Braces - Cooling jewel 2, Satiated jewel 1 x 2 Tassets - Hard Fire Res Jewel 4 or Brace 3, Vitality jewel 1 x 2 Greaves - Satiated/Evasion Jewel 4, Sonorous Jewel 1 This gives us Defense Boost 7, Earplugs 5, Wide-Range 5, Stun Resistance 3, Health Boost 3, Recovery Up 3, Flinch Free 1/Fire Resistance 3, Free Meal 3, Speed Eating 3, Horn Maestro 2, Heat Guard 1, Stamina Thief 1, and Evade Window. You can change the Hard Resistant Element Jewel 4 for whatever monster you are fighting or Use Brace 3 for the flinch free 1 which is less important in my opinion. This build specifically is for the Safi Siege. You can change the cooling jewel for warming depending on which area you are in. Same build but tankier and has options for better quality of life.  | 1800 attack displayed is not that much, especially with all those buffs, and even more so because you don't crit, and you don't have crit boost (which is useless if you don't crit of course). You basically deal 50% less damage than a basic build (or maybe even worse), which could also include Free Meal 1 and Wide-range 5. I think just adding a bit of damage skills (like Weakness Exploit and Crit Boost) would make the hunts way faster and thus, you would never need to have Free Meal 3 (so you can take something else than the Tigrex pieces). Of course, play what you want, and making sure your team stays alive is a great goal to have. The game's is made to have fun, so have fun the way you want! I've just always liked being more of the bardbarian. As far as the health boost melody, it's not a bug. The melody is treated like buffs gained from nutrients/max potions/canteen meals, so it'll stack with vitality gems and nothing else.  | so i did some testing. And health boost doesnt stack with meals and doesnt work past 150hp. That means if you had meal that gave you +50 hp (bringing you from 100 to 150) and you used Health Boost on HH - you wont get extra health and will be still on 150hp, furthermore - encoring health boost doesnt give additional benefits (except for maybe duration of the buff). So you cannot ditch out vitality jewels out of your build and put 3 more crit/attack jewels in there. And since everyone eats before hunt (+ some potions that HH user can drink to boost hp up to 150 cap and with wide range team gets same benefits) - this song is basically useless. That's sad, since earplugs XL lets you ditch out 5 earplug jewels out of your build, and they lvl 2 slots, where vitality is only lvl 1 slot and caps at 3 jewels. Yet build is good. Very supporty. But i want to assemble my own: 2 set golden rathian, 3 set tigrex and teostra HH. Divine blessing lvl 5 + HH divine blessing song (yes, they do trigger independently) , free meal lvl 3, health boost lvl 3, wide range 5 and some other skills like recovery speed/recovery up/speed eating.  | Look at the vaients availible. Ive been using a similar setup thats a mix of Tigrex/Brute Tigrex with Garuga legs for much more offensive potential while keeping the wide range build. Going to suggest you look at other Horns though. You only need attack up, def up and hp/stam increase are not very good in the long run. Elemental res up far out performs def up for example.  | Here are some HH tips: Health Boost just maxes out your life bar (like a max potion) and heals 10% of the teams life when activated. It's not a bug. Songs you've played do NOT trigger on other players when initially out of range. You have to replay them when they are in range. (There is a small, blue icon which shows you if they are. wide range lvl 5 has the same area of effect lower levels of wr has a significantly smaller effect area) The dragon echo wave is heavily affected by the dragon attack skill and element up songs and has the same base damage as the elementless + its element damage on top. It does not crit tough. Timing and using your movement while performing is key. know your movement options. It can also be played thrice and then empower it to wake up a monster with a very powerful hit. You can hit around 1.1k with an highly offensive set. The Echo-Spin is very powerful. If a monster evades it before you start spinning you can roll out of it. Unlike the echo wave it is affected by crit. If you play support make sure your team doesn't suck entirely. Or you just waste time drinking potions all day without upkeeping your songs. I see it alot that HH supporters just struggle keeping the buffs and heal. People get too dependant and careless with item suport. Health boost is HIGHLY recommended, as well as stun resistance (depending on your hunting horn) Kushalas wind pressure is only negated by the song "All wind pressure negated" not "wind pressure negated" Earplugs S = Lvl 2 Earplugs L = Lvl 5 Fun fact: The Wolf-Shamisen is the only weapon in the entire game that can get to 100% affinity without weakness exploit. It just needs one Affinity Augment, Crit eye 7 and attack boost 4 or 2 affinity augments (but i prefer life steal) Комментарий от : @SilverTwinkle |

A dumb player with an sns can do your job twice as fast and with little to no dps loss. Hunting Horn is a weapon not just a saxo you get out to play song and drink potion all day to get carried by teamates. The hunting horn can inflict really strong damage if you play it well and putting it away means a really huge loss in dps. So just to resume this message please try sns with this build and go with a real hunting horn player in you team who actually plays hunting horn( with damage ( wex crit boost etc)) and then see if you get better clear if you ain't then the blame is on me but trust me with your sns you'll be able to heal friends faster so be safer and have better dps uptime Please stop putting the hunting horn at the bottom of the Shelf like it's usefull only for "healing" Комментарий от : @ZinedineZamdane |
 | So, imo your support HH build is pretty good, you have all the right skills etc, But imo it wouldn’t be a bad idea to fit in some offensive skills too to balance out your dmg output. Like say the way I changed your build up here is this: replace the Tigrex chest piece with the Rex Roar Mail B+, (for attack boost 2 and weakness exploit 1, plus you keep the same amount of slots and the free meal secret.) then replace the stun resist jewels and the earplug jewels you have slotted in for 3 Crit boost and 2 Tenderizer. So with this build the way it is with the tweaks I’ve made to it you keep the wide range 5, speed eating, and free meal 3. But gain Crit boost 3, weakness exploit 3 and attack boost 3, improving your dmg output greatly while keep the esthetic of the build in tact. Hope you see this person who made this build.
