The interview of Muller was carried out by East Germans posing as a West German crew, for the purpose of discrediting the anti-communist forces in the Congo and the West German government.  | It feels as if this is slanted against the mercenaries who fought in this war. Granted there were atrocities, there can never be denying this; war inevitability brings about atrocities. However, the Simbas were guilty of mass murder of missionaries and anyone who opposed them, and ironically it fell to the mercenaries to rescue them. The war itself was savage on both sides with the Simbas often torturing people horribly before killing them. I will state the mercenaries were guilty of looting, which the commanders did nothing to stop - they didn't have MP units to prevent this.
