I bet that rifle is a mix of M1917 and P14 parts, hence, the feeding issues. The stock is from a M1917, so it’s likely that the mag box, etc. are, as well.

I believe these are prone to misfeeds in general But very accurate and is why Great Britain chose to use them for sniper conversions.

My P14 is a tack driver, and functions properly. I have never experienced the problems you had with cycling the rifle. I like it more than the Garand.

Lol. Rimlocks are easy enough to fix. Charger loading alternate over and under 3 down hard and 2 high per the British method. When it does occur, a simple hard, deep plunge with the thumb down on em and quickly release allowing mag spring to pop them up will reset the rims and release it. :) enjoy
